I'm Anna McHugh, a mushroom nerd and educator from Raleigh, North Carolina.
I create beginner-friendly identification videos, lead wild mushroom walks, and illustrate my favorite fungi. For the past 16 years, my pursuit of wild mushrooms has taken me on many adventures.
Now, I share my knowledge with people of all ages through wild mushroom walks and classes, presentations, videos, and original botanical art. From the oak and pine forests of the North Carolina Piedmont to the mountains of the Sierra Nevada and Oregon, I've delighted in observing fungi and the critical role they play in ecosystems of all kinds.
So, take a look around and learn how to have a grand time in the woods by looking for and appreciating wild mushrooms.
